Above you see the two breed standards for standard schnauzers. The first one is the FCI ( European ) one the second is the Kennel Club ( United Kingdom ). Our dogs can be shown in Europe and UK as they excel in both the breed standards. Thats why we are the only English kennel consistently succesfull in the showring in both Europe and UK.

For us one of the most important sentences within the breedstandards is : The Schnauzer with all the requirements to be an outstanding family, guard and companion dog, also endowed with the qualities of a working dog. ( our experience of working and family dogs tells us this requires a stable predictable none aggressive or nervous temprement) . Nowadays you see really scared or aggresive schnauzers ours are the opposite of this something we are really proud off  and have worked hard through very selective breeding socialisation and training to achieve !

The grooming:  The schnauzer is an asthma/ allergy friendly breed when the coat is maintained by regular grooming and hand stripping. The tools you will need are : Single and Double Spaced comb, Slicker Brush (medium-hard). Twice a week comb though the leg hair, chest hair, beards and eyebrows. Finally fluff up using the slicker brush. The slicker brush can be used on the body coat also. Handstripping or clipping are both possible depending on what you want to do with your dog. My advice is to handstrip the coat as it maintains the protection qualities of the coat such as water and pest repellency.
